TOMORROW COMES TODAI
In 2009 I was shown on YouTube a short film called 'Panic Attack!', it was science fiction and told the story of an attack of giant robots and UFOs in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay. It was the time of Taringa and it was said that the guy who made it, Fede Alvarez, received 30 million dollars to remake his short film on a large scale with the help of Sam Raimi, who directed the first Spider Man trilogy. It's worth noting that his short had been made with a presu of $300, so I said: "I want to do it too". The money seemed amazing to me, but beyond that I felt the challenge of creating something of that level directly from a computer, because beyond the story of the short what caught my attention was the post-production, I felt that learning a little more I could reach that level of animation.

Time is money, you grow up and you realize that it is scarce (money... which is time) so the idea over the years was disappearing. I kept learning more tools, some animation, some programming, design, illustration, AR, VR, etc, etc, (here the chronic addiction problems) and I kept moving away from the short film, although I remember it as those things you look at and you get a tattoo that says 'why not?'.

This year a new drug arrived: artificial intelligence. At the beginning, like all people who do not know, I was quite skeptical that it could become functional. The first results were quite poor, but thanks to the most fundamental tool in the universe (the Internet), evolutionary times are getting shorter and shorter. Every day a tool is created that surpasses the previous one, information and knowledge travels in microseconds, so the possibilities for improvement are infinite.

AI is not going to put you out of a job, but you have to recognize that we are facing something that marks a turning point in human evolution. The best exercise you can do is to look back and realize what has happened with similar processes (yes! The development of this simulation we call 'life' is quite cyclical, but that is another topic), you will realize that denial does not help and that the same human being is the one who relegates himself by not wanting to adapt to new scenarios.

I have written all this to say that I finally got it done. It is not the piece I would have dreamed of, but it is the one that allows me the time I currently have, and I am quite satisfied (after 14 years). I would change some things? totally, but it is a very nice 'first step'. AI has helped me in this opportunity to give shape to an idea that a few months ago was impossible for me, either for lack of time, lack of knowledge of tools or not having the help of other people. Fear of the new is natural, but once you overcome that initial leap you realize that the coming change in everything we know at a technological level is going to be huge.
